Stop hiding behind your company’s brand – step out January 21, 2016 21:00

I have spent the last few days at the NRF Retail Big Show in New York.  And reflected on how the successful retail brands usually have a personal face sitting behind, or indeed, in front, of the corporate brand. Think of Jeff Bezos and Amazon. Whilst Amazon is now one of the largest retailers on the planet, Jeff still features prominently in commentary and in the media. Steve Jobs and Apple, another, even after his passing. Closer to home in Australia, one can only commend Gerry Harvey for having the courage to keep stepping up, sometimes in the face of harsh criticism , to assert his views. Read more...
